About Hypnotherapy

It has been scientifically proven that there is a link between the mind and body. For example, if someone is upsetting you, perhaps you feel tightness in your chest or a pain in your stomach. With hypnotherapy you can learn to control your thoughts, emotions and experiences and replace them with optimum healing beliefs. Your body will reflect the state of your mind.

Understanding how the mind works is helpful in learning how to be in charge of the link between the mind and the body. We have two parts to our mind: the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is our will, or the thinking part of the mind.

The subconscious mind is the part that remains outside our conscious awareness. The subconscious controls all of our bodily functions such as heartbeat, blood flow, and breathing. The subconscious mind stores our emotions, memories, behaviours and knowledge. It also stores our limiting beliefs and mental judgments that we’ve made about ourselves, the way the world works, or the way we interact in the world. Unfortunately, we are not aware of these thoughts and a lot of these misinformed beliefs and judgments are outdated and based on childhood experiences.

Therefore, it is very helpful to retrain the subconscious mind to work in harmony with the conscious mind. We learn best when we are relaxed both physically and mentally, and we are then are able to receive constructive suggestions that are accepted by the subconscious mind to make helpful changes in our lives.

During hypnotherapy, you will experience a deep and pleasurable sense of relaxation while your mind remains peaceful and calm. It is at this time that you will hear supportive suggestions that will help you to learn new ways of dealing with present day circumstances and future challenges.
